Bumble Bee Cottage was given the name due to its location within the herb garden, where you often see a bumble bee or two busying about among the herbs.

The cottage nestled in the stunning grounds of a private small estate has all the modern comforts with a luxury, contemporary feel. There is underfloor heating throughout with a thermostat for guests to control the temperature to their suiting. There is much on offer in the area with a plenitude of beautiful countryside walks, fabulous pubs, Howlets Wildlife Animal Park, Canterbury city, and seaside towns such as Whitstable, Sandwich, Margate, Deal and more. Take a look on our blog for more information on things to do in the area.

Lounge & Kitchen

In the lounge area there is a velvet couch, cowhide rug, tv, coffee table, coasters and a log burner. The kitchen countertop, sink and backsplash is made of corian and designed to create the illusion of a single flowing solid surface. The cutting board slides over the cooking hobs to give the surface a clean look when not in use. Pendant lights hang over the kitchen area, and the tiles are positioned to catch the eye. There is a kettle, toaster, fridge- freezer and oven, and plenty of cooking utensils, bottle opener, sauce pans & frying pans, plates, bowls and cutlery.

The bedroom has a wardrobe with hanging space, a large mirror, reading lamp, and bedside table. The bed is a king size double with copper headrest, a firm and comfortable mattress, cotton sheets, a sheepskin rug, and just enough space to fit suitcases underneath to tuck them out of the way.

Beautifully designed with a skylight over the shower so you can see the trees by day and the stars by night, the raindrop shower is a truly divine experience. Options for lighting, and warm underfloor heating to step out on to, create an overall sense of luxury and comfort.

A lovely place for a getaway! Beautiful location, quiet and remote, clean and well maintained, kitchen facilities good, owners very helpful and we enjoyed the log fire. Great for a romantic break and a short drive to the city centre.

A gorgeous cottage that combines contemporary design and amenities like a modern bathroom and underfloor heating with the cosy feel of a country cottage. Lovely hosts. A perfect place to hide away and relax in front of a fire in the log burner. A great base for country walks or day trips to places like Canterbury, Margate and Whitstable, all whithin half an hours drive or less. We loved our stay here.

The Quaives is a beautiful barn conversion and has been decorated very tastefully. The bed was very comfortable and we were warmly welcomed by the hosts. 20 min drive into Canterbury and some charming local pubs nearby. Would recommend.
